"I enjoy standing out in the crowd. When I go shopping it’s quite fun… People do look at me, the way they think is fun or scary or is a little bit intimidating but do you know what? I don’t really care." These were the wordings of Elaine Davidson who has the world record for being the Most Pierced Woman in the whole world. First receiving a skin piercing in January 1997, now she has almost 7000 piercings covering her body. Out of these, she has around 1,500 piercings INSIDE HER as well. That's a lot of metal.image credit: http://www.flickr.com/photos/revstan/4450749311 (revstan)
Elaine was born in Brazil and is a former nurse. She is 43 years old and does not drink or use drugs or smoke cigarettes and she wants people to know this. She has spent many years carrying out body piercing and tattooing. She now resides in Edinburgh, Scotland with her husband Douglas Watson (47 years old)- a man with no piercings, whom she got married to on June 8, 2011. The the couple continues to reside in Edinburgh where she runs an aromatherapy shop.
According to her website, she "never removes the rings and studs" which she estimates weigh a total of three kilos. Her family has said they don't like her piercings. She insists there is no pain involved in piercing and sleeps soundly with all of her piercing ornaments in place. In addition to piercing, hair braiding and tattoo work, her shop which is located conveniently in the center of Edinburgh also supplies Aromatherapy products, Jewelry and specialized clothing.
If you are looking for her male counterpart then, with a total of 453 studs and rings all over the body, Rolf Buchholz from Dortmund, Germany has been acknowledged by Guinness as the most pierced man in the world. You would think that most of the piercing are on his head and face by looking at him but in actual, he has 94 piercings in and around his lips, 25 in his eyebrows, 8 in his nose, and a whopping 278 in his genital area. You may wonder how he managed to fit that many in such a small area. He sports a full body suit to cover his torso and limbs.
