Y-40 is the world's deepest swimming pool for diving. "Boaretto Group Hotel and Resort" is supporting Y-40 which is projected by Architect Emanuele Boaretto. The name Y-40 is inspired by mathematical symbol. "-40" means the world's record depth while "Y" is the ordinate axis of the Cartesian system.
Y-40 is situated in a wonderful area in a regional natural park of the Euganean Hills in Italy. The architect has clever idea to cover the pool with lawn. The idea was to cleverly include the structure into its environment congruously.
Y-40 is 40 meters deep and the surface area of the pool measures at 21mX18m. Y-40 is filled with thermal spa water. You can dive and swim in Y-40 without wearing a wetsuit because its 4300 cubic meters water is maintained at a temperature of 32-34°C. It has various intermediate depths and caves for technical scuba diving. The pool reaches a depth of 130ft. 130 ft is equivalent to the height of a 14-storey building. The massive-sized pool supports a wide range of activities all year long. We can have beginner scuba diving training to professional diving for experts here. Photo sessions for photographer and film producers are also allowed here.
The swimming pool, whose construction is 100% Italian, will be situated within the complex of the 4-star Hotel Terme Millepini. The opening was the 5th of June 2014. Umberto Pelizzari the world record freediver measured the depth and Enzo Maiorca opened the pool to people. The opening time of pool is 3 p.m.-10 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m.-10 p.m. on weekends. Y-40 is closed on Mondays.
Emanuele Boaretto said - "Y-40 is unique in its field thanks to the spa water, which cannot be outsourced. We want to open up new medium and long term work prospects to try and guarantee prosperity, not only for my company but also for the surrounding land and society.
